At a glance

“Ao Nang national park” is not a separate park. The Department of National Parks page for this coast is Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi. Its own place list includes Ao Nang, Noppharat Thara beach, Railay, Phra Nang Cave, Thale Waek, the shell cemetery, Koh Poda, Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Le and Ko Mai Phai. One name, several prices, and the price depends on which of those places the ticket is for.

Quick facts

Checked 26 October 2026 against the department’s park page and the fee file it still publishes. The file’s data date is 2 June 2023. The open-data catalog still pointed at that file. I am not substituting a tour desk’s number for it.

  • The Ao Nang park: Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi. Headquarters at 79 Moo 5, Ao Nang. Phone 075 661 145. The page dates the park to 6 October 1983 and gives the area after the 1998 boundary change as 387.90 square kilometres.
  • Foreign fee, most of that park: 200 baht adult, 100 baht child. Thai visitors on the same line: 40 and 20.
  • Foreign fee, three islands only: Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Le and Ko Mai Phai (Bamboo Island), 400 baht adult and 200 baht child.
  • Ao Phang Nga: not in Krabi province. Foreign 300 / 150. Thai 60 / 30.
  • Than Bok Khorani, Ao Luek: foreign 300 / 150. Thai 60 / 30. The department lists a guard station at Koh Hong inside this park.
  • Khao Phanom Bencha: foreign 100 / 50. Thai 20 / 10.

The place pages are Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi, Ao Phang Nga, Than Bok Khorani and Khao Phanom Bencha.

Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi

This is the park people mean. The headquarters address on the department’s page is 79 Moo 5, Tambon Ao Nang, Mueang Krabi. The phone is 075 661 145. Email on the same page: [email protected]. The welfare shop is listed as open daily from 08:30 to 16:30. That is the shop hours, not a sentence I am going to stretch into a gate-closing time.

The page’s own list of places is the useful one, because the English names collide. It includes Ao Nang, Noppharat Thara beach, Rai Le (Railay), Phra Nang Cave, Thale Waek, the shell cemetery at Laem Pho, Ko Phi Phi Don, Ko Phi Phi Le (Ao Maya and Ao Lo Sa Ma), Ko Mai Phai and a line that reads “Ko Mai Phai or Ko Poda”. Ko Mai Phai is Bamboo Island. Koh Poda is the other island on the Four Islands loop. I am not going to treat that “or” as proof they are the same island. Both names are on the page. The Four Islands guide is the trip that uses Poda, Chicken Island, Tup and Phra Nang. The Phi Phi day trip is the one that enters the 400-baht islands.

What the fee file actually says

The file is the department’s entrance-fee table, data dated 2 June 2023. On 26 October 2026 the catalog record for that dataset still gave 2 June 2023 as the latest data date. These are the Krabi-relevant lines, foreigner column first:

  • Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi, general: 200 baht adult, 100 baht child. Thai: 40 and 20.
  • The same park at Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Le and Ko Mai Phai: 400 and 200. The table does not reprint a separate Thai rate on that line.
  • Ao Phang Nga: 300 and 150. Thai: 60 and 30.
  • Than Bok Khorani: 300 and 150. Thai: 60 and 30.
  • Khao Phanom Bencha: 100 and 50. Thai: 20 and 10.

The table does not put Koh Poda, Koh Kai or Koh Tup on the 400 line. The Four Islands guide still records a 400 baht foreign adult fee at the pier, from a check on 12 October 2026. I am not erasing that. A desk and a PDF are allowed to disagree, and I did not stand at the pier on 26 October. If someone asks for 400 baht on a Poda boat, ask which line of the schedule the ticket is, and keep the receipt. The department’s own page says to carry the receipt for inspection.

Phi Phi is the clean match. Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Le are named on the 400 line, and the Phi Phi day trip already uses 400 adult and 200 child.

The child column is labelled child. The file I read does not print the age cutoff on those rows, so I am not adding one.

Ao Phang Nga is the next province

Ao Phang Nga National Park shows up in Krabi searches because the bay is the next limestone coast north. The fee file lists it. The park is in Phang Nga province, not Krabi. Foreign adults 300 baht, foreign children 150, Thai adults 60, Thai children 30, on that same 2 June 2023 file.

I am not putting a Krabi boat price on this page. I did not verify a current departure from Ao Nang or Krabi Town on 26 October 2026. The place page is Ao Phang Nga National Park.

Than Bok Khorani, and which Koh Hong

Than Bok Khorani’s page gives the headquarters as 2/2 Moo 2, Tambon Ao Luek Tai, Ao Luek, Krabi 81110. Phone 075 681 096. Email [email protected]. It gives the area as 65,000 rai. The welfare shop is open daily 08:30 to 16:30. The guard stations named on the page include Koh Hong and Laem Sak.

That Koh Hong is the Krabi lagoon trip, not the Koh Hong inside Ao Phang Nga. The Hong Islands guide is the boat day. Its park-fee line is 300 baht for a foreign adult, which matches this park’s adult rate, and 100 baht for a child, which does not match the file’s 150. I am leaving the guide’s pier note alone and quoting the file here.

The famous Emerald Pool is not this headquarters. The Emerald Pool place page is in Khlong Thom Nuea, south of Krabi Town. Than Bok’s address is Ao Luek. They are different gates. The day trips guide is where those inland days sit next to the island boats.

Khao Phanom Bencha

On the same fee file, Khao Phanom Bencha is 100 baht for a foreign adult and 50 for a child, 20 and 10 for Thai visitors. I did not re-walk the trails on 26 October 2026, so this page stops at the fee and the name. The place page is Khao Phanom Bencha National Park.

Staying on the Noppharat Thara side

The headquarters beach is Noppharat Thara, west of the Ao Nang strip. Viangviman Luxury Private Pool Villa and Resort is at 312–313 Moo 5, Nopparat Thara Soi 8/1. Agoda’s landmark list, checked 26 October 2026, puts Noppharathara Beach at 1.02 kilometres and Ao Nang Beach at 2.03 kilometres. It is a 3-star, 7-room property. Agoda’s review score on the same check is 8.4 from 213 reviews. December to February is when Ao Nang fills. A free-cancellation rate holds the price you see on the day you book.

The town layout is in the Ao Nang area guide. How the boats leave the beach is in getting around Krabi.

FAQ

What is Ao Nang national park?

Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park. The department’s page lists Ao Nang, Noppharat Thara, Railay and the offshore islands under that one name. Headquarters: 79 Moo 5, Ao Nang. Phone 075 661 145.

How much is the national park fee at Phi Phi?

The fee file dated 2 June 2023 lists Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Le and Ko Mai Phai at 400 baht for a foreign adult and 200 baht for a foreign child. The general line for the rest of Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi is 200 and 100. The catalog still showed that file on 26 October 2026.

Does the Four Islands tour use the 400 baht rate?

Not on the published table. Koh Poda, Chicken Island and Tup are not named on the 400 line. The Four Islands guide on this site still records 400 baht at the pier from 12 October 2026. Ask which schedule line the ticket uses, and keep the receipt.

Which park is Koh Hong in Krabi?

Than Bok Khorani. The department’s page for that park lists a guard station at Koh Hong. The foreign rate on the fee file is 300 baht for an adult and 150 for a child. Ao Phang Nga has a different Koh Hong, and that park is in Phang Nga province.

Is the Emerald Pool in Than Bok Khorani?

The Emerald Pool place page is in Khlong Thom Nuea. Than Bok Khorani’s headquarters address is in Ao Luek. Do not pay one and expect the other.

Where do I stay if the plan is the Noppharat Thara side of the park?

On that side of Ao Nang, not on Phi Phi. Viangviman is on Nopparat Thara Soi 8/1. Agoda lists the beach at 1.02 kilometres. Check today’s rate. A free-cancellation rate locks the price shown that day.
