Phi Hua To Cave

An ancient cave in Ao Luek District with more than 100 prehistoric rock paintings on its walls and ceiling — human figures, fish, boats and animals estimated to be around 3,000 years old. The site is managed by the Fine Arts Department and is one of the few prehistoric rock art sites accessible to independent visitors in southern Thailand. Entry is free but reaching it requires a scooter or car; there is no direct public transport. Best visited in the morning when natural light enters the cave mouth and illuminates the paintings without the need for a torch.
