Monkey Trail, Ao Nang

A concrete walkway pinned to the cliff base that links the east end of Ao Nang Beach to Pai Plong Beach around the headland. It's a five-minute stroll with sea on one side and jungle on the other, and — as the name warns — a troop of macaques who've learned tourists carry snacks. Keep bags zipped and don't feed them. At the far end you pop out onto quiet Pai Plong, a small cove backed by a resort. Free, easy, and a nice way to escape the main beach crowd.
