Khao Khanab Nam

The twin limestone peaks that guard the mouth of the Krabi River are the town's signature backdrop — you'll see them on every postcard. A short longtail ride from the Chao Fah pier takes you across to the base, where a boardwalk and steps lead into caves that hold stalactites and, local lore says, once sheltered prehistoric human remains. The boat trip itself, threading between the karsts and the mangroves, is half the pleasure. Cheap longtail fare from the town pier. Best in the late afternoon light.
