Phra Nang is regularly called one of the best beaches in Thailand and it earns it — a short crescent of white sand tucked under towering cliffs on the Railay peninsula, with the fertility cave shrine at one end and a hidden lagoon hike at the other. Rock climbers dangle overhead, longtails sell drinks and fruit from the water, and the swimming is warm and clear. It's boat-only, a 15-minute longtail from Ao Nang. Go early; there's no shade later and it fills up. Free.
