The Krabi Mangrove Resource Management Centre, on the edge of the mangroves near Pak Nam, is a government-run facility explaining the ecology and conservation of Krabi's extensive mangrove forests — among the most intact in Thailand. The boardwalk through the adjacent mangroves is the main reason to visit: a quiet, shaded walk through gnarled root systems with birds and mudskippers visible at low tide. Free to enter and rarely crowded. Best combined with a visit to Krabi Town nearby.
